One trip abroad an employer will definitely warm to

The general feel amongst employers is still that in these competitive times a bit of ‘down time’ abroad after graduation is well deserved but needs to have an eye on the future and your career. We all wish it weren’t that way but it is at the moment.

To this end there’s some well established travel intensive and employability rich programmes out there and one in particular is still looking for 2009 grads. Raleigh International have bursaries available right now for both their summer and autumn expeditions to Borneo, Costa Rica & Nicaragua, or India.

You do still need to fundraise £1000 towards the expedition and pay for the flights, vaccinations and kit. However, balance that up against the liberating and rewarding experience of embarking on such an adventure and you may look at it twice. Brunel has a history of providing graduates for this programme. See herefor more details.
